Author Bio For Thomas Harper:

Thomas Harper was born in 1985 and lived the first thirty years of his life in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After skating by all the way through high school, he spent six years at a menial job. With plenty of time to think, he discovered his intellectual side. In 2009 he finally went to college in an attempt to procrastinate the real world, which has scary responsibilities. He is now a biochemist who has worked as an undergraduate researcher on β-lactamases, the enzyme bacteria use to break down β-lactam drugs such as penicillin’s in antibiotic resistant bacteria. As of the publishing of this book, he is now a graduate student at CU Boulder, doing research on the CDK8 module of the Mediator complex, which is essential for communicating cellular signals into gene expression in eukaryotic cells. When he has time, Thomas Harper posts on a blog page called The Cynical Philosopher about various philosophical, societal, and scientific ideas that interest him.
