“The ones that become angered by you,” Telmet said, “and possess you, causing you to speak in strange tongues and forsake your ancestors.”

“I am my ancestor,” I said.

Telmet glared at me angrily for a moment before turning to my right and pointing at a log. Without saying anything I grabbed one end of the log while he grabbed the other and started carrying it back to the settlement. I could still feel him glowering at me from behind as we walked.
