as an explosion at a SWAT vehicle sent several guards reeling to the ground. Silvana was twenty feet ahead of me when I skidded to a stop, watching one of the gang members pull out a gun and shoot into a line of police officers who were looking over their shoulder at what just happened. Two of them fell back, screaming. Another aimed his gun and shot into the crowd, sending both Crips and MS13 members falling to the ground.

Another explosion from further away, the crowd inside the fence all gasping in surprise at once. The gasp turned into screams as another spray of gunfire went off. This time it was aimed into the trapped audience in the fence.

“The crops are shooting them!” someone bellowed.
