I went back into the room where the deer had been trapped and started working backward from there, trying to find out what had happened. It wasn’t hard to pick up the trail, it had been bleeding badly. Seeing the bites and claw marks made that fairly obvious. I tracked back through the kitchen and out the smashed glass door.
Once outside, I turned on my flashlight. The trail was a little harder to follow but not much. I could still see drops of blood beside its tracks as I followed them back toward the pond behind the house. I approached the pond and could see signs of a struggle. This must’ve been where the deer was attacked.
