we heard about it ten minutes ago. That’s when we rushed down here and started praying.”

“So, kaboom?”

“Seems like it. Would you like to join us?”

He quietly opened the door. I took a step forward, then paused and backed out of the room.

“I think I’d like to do it on my own.”

“I understand,” he said with a weak smile. “God be with you.”

I smiled back as he closed the door behind him. I walked back up the stairs and out the front door in a daze, wondering about the gullibility of some people and how they survived in life.

This can’t be happening. No one is that stupid. I can’t wait to hear on the news about the prankster that will be doing jail time for this....
