My mother always used to say, "What are you writing a book? Leave that chapter out." Sorry mom, a memoir is just that. This collection highlights the most difficult challenges and milestones of my life that occurred before the birth of my daughter, Aziza, as she changed my life exponentially.

I've been writing poetry for what seems like forever so far, hoping to get good at it. 😉 I love it. It's always on my mind, thinking what I'll write about next. I'd almost say it's addictive. Yes, that's it! If I'm going to have a vice, other than my obsession with coffee, writing poetry is it.
I love my daughter, who at nearly 14 is becoming more willful than a toddler. I adore my cat Lizzie, my lap companion. And I make some pretty tasty tofu!
