love sublime  
shines a jagged 
pathway
across the

tangled peaks
of this heart
for my bicycle
to navigate
the cliffs 
and chasms of
incipient federalism.

Soon,
warring blizzards
render wheels wretched,
and so I don snowshoes
to outrun the avalanche.
