Home is 
where my 
breathing 
heart 

beats 
in drumming rhythm: 
both as beacon 

for homing pigeons, 
and lighthouse 
to remind 
passing ships 
to steer clear 
of submerged rocks. 

My garden 
is prettied 
with flower-lined lawns 

and trees with 
speaking leaves 
which fall in winter.
