Dear Matt,

     I’m sorry for parading a whole bunch of men in front of you, after divorcing your dad.  I neglected you sometimes, in favor of them, and I made you fend for yourself, and take care of things you should have never had to take care of at your age.  I neglected you when you needed me most.  I was so selfish then, wanting what I wanted and gave no thought to anyone else.  All those men I dated, I’m sure you had a few choice words for me, and blamed me when the relationships ended, and thought how stupid I was, but you never said anything like that to me.  You kept your mouth shut and let me find out things for myself and make my own mistakes.  You were more grown-up than me at the time.  I think we...
