The bible is a history book, not fiction or fantasy that we ourselves are a part of. Because it is a history book, it is important to see when this planet started so that we can see where we are now. In this area we will set the stage, using information from the bible that will help ground the readers mind before moving into the most needed words of the Almighty. 

Scientists have stated that this world is approximately 4.54 billion years old. They have come to this conclusion by using technology to date the earth by studying and dating the rocks and dirt, or earth, (adamah), of this world. 

The written word of the Almighty creator states that this world is about 6,000 years old at this time. Why is there such a huge discrepancy in time?
