            Emily crawled into bed and jerked the covers up around her chin.  The autumn chill was enough to make her need the blankets, but not cold enough to justify turning on the heat.  She burrowed into her pillow with a contented sigh.   Her eyes fluttered shut.  Maybe tonight she'd sleep through the night.  No more dreams or nightmares. 

            Beep.  Beep.  Beep.

            Her eyes popped open and she glared at the phone on the nightstand.  With a noisy exhale, she climbed up onto her elbows.
