"Love this article! I am a firm believer in letting the mind rest. I call it decluttering the brain.
As far as not engaging with the baby every single moment, it's much better to let him dream up his own entertainment. It's a big payoff down the road. He'll be creative, like you. Of course, you will want to have one-on-one's sprinkled in there. :)"

"Your new role as a working Mom is quite a juggling act, and I totally admire women who do that. Even if you weren't working, there would still be a sense of guilt. Most Moms will tell you that guilt is a natural by-product of that role in life. It shouldn't be, though, as we strive to do our very best for our children. Plus, children thrive around other children, and most times they don't even realize we are not present. It all works out in the end as researchers have found that most children turn out to be pretty much like their parents......not necessarily with career choices, but in character and morality. Just always remember that children will live what they are taught at home and that's a pretty good start for the teen years!"

"So glad you got out of that parking lot unharmed! I know you will be careful out there, especially with your new role as a Mom. :)
I love the comment about your nightgown in "This is Where I Am" and how you relate it to being older! I seldom wore them, either, but do remember wearing my maternity gown for years afterwards. Funny, how we remember those things.
BTW, your writing is getting better and better. It really flows!"

"Like Rachel, I'm catching up on Channillo. I have to tell you, that storm in Cancun had me really worried, and I'm glad I didn't read your essay until after it was all over! My heart was pounding while I was reading your piece on it!"

"I enjoy all of your writing, but the Rome adventure got my heart pumping! Having lived in a foreign country, the language and cultural barriers make for uneasy feelings, to say the least, especially when traveling. I'm glad you made it safely back to France, and eventually to the U.S. There is no place like home! Thank you for reminding me of that. :)"
