"Fell hopelessly behind on reading. I loved reading your series. Fun, real, honest. I felt like I was watching a life through a window. I know it was fiction, but it felt to real. Thanks for writing it!"

"I left the rat race some time ago. Teaching now. Still doing some broadcast work and, yes, writing. I have simplified my life. Less "stuff" -- more time -- and more space in the world...more space for summer."

Commented on The Domesticated Poet:
"I have said in workshops so many times -- writing for yourself is therapy. Nothing wrong with that. But if you want to be a truly creative person, your writing must be shared. The art is a symbiotic relationship with the reader. It's not one way. It can't be. There are shared emotions, shared experiences. This is what makes creative work so fulfilling and meaningful. So, with this in mind, your piece is SO on target. Some writers will tell you NEVER self-publish. That's not the right approach. Self-publishing can be perfect for the right person, depending on goals. But be careful. As we all know, there are a lot of companies out there preying on writers. Hire a good editor. Make sure you have a great book designer who understands book design. Not just a general graphic artist. And ask the self-publishing company or the hybird about their distribution. Some of them are not connected at all to the big distributors. Ok, enough. You probably already know all this. Right? Anyway. Your writing is doing what all good writing does...it resonates with your readers. What you write here will be bouncing around in my head for many days."

Commented on The Domesticated Poet:
"Ah, the creative life. I've written about it, too. How just underneath the skin, we are all full of angst. My wife calls it the creative curse. Now, that said, I'm a pretty positive guy. I'm not knocking back a bottle of Jack Daniels every day - (Kerouac, Jackson Pollack, Hemingway) - to ease this "angst" labeled creatively as the creative curse. But it's there. Lingering."
