Carlton Holden is also author of Brush Up On Your German (Poliert Euer Deutsch Auf), Brush Up On Your German (Poliert Euer Deutsch Auf): Workbook (Übungsbuch), S.O.O.T. (novella about a teacher with a secret and a nightmarish personal trainer), and Sub: A Brief Guide to Staying Above Water in the Classroom (this includes a French edition Le Professeur Suppléant : Un Bref Guide Pour Garder la Tête Hors de L'eau dans La Salle de Classe) as well as co-author of When Leaves Cry (novella tackling human trafficking in South Africa/also in Spanish as Cuando Las Hojas Lloran). He enjoys travel, movies/television, music, languages and linguistics, and reading in his spare time. His favorite sports are tennis and boxing. He studied social science and education at Ashford University and German at the University of Munich and Georgetown University. He gains inspiration from Alex Haley, Richard Wright, Ralph Ellison, Maya Angelou, and Zora Neale Hurston as well as other writers.
