"I'm all about wanting to know what's going on with YOU. And, I think we, as a culture, are obsessed with busy-ness. Like if we are busy, we are somehow more valuable. Living our best lives shouldn't depend on how busy we are. Because, without a doubt, that will turn into people complaining about how busy they are in seconds flat. I love that you are internally searching for ways to express yourself, but that it doesn't have to manifest itself in a grocery list of busy-ness. To me, that's something to aspire to. Keep it up. And keep posting about YOU. :)"

"Yes! What I miss for my daughter is the music. I had such a good music program. I was able to rent an instrument through the school and started viola in third grade. It totally informed who I was as a person to play the viola, be in the orchestra later on, have access to choirs. Now, my daughter has music once a week. There's no music room. The music teacher wheels his supplies around on a cart. But, she does have art. They have an incredible art room and art program. I guess it's a matter of give and take. We were lucky to have more, though!"

"I was just thinking about this with reading. I normally read 1-3 books a week. Lately, I haven't been reading much at all. And then I start to worry that I'll never read again. But of course I do. I am also starting to get holiday anxiety... my sister is already done shopping for Christmas presents for MY daughter. How is that possible? I haven't even started yet. Taking a moment to breathe is excellent advice!"

"Ooooph. This was a gut punch of an entry! Your honesty here is so important. I try and tell myself that when someone points out something about my life, it's coming from their own insecurities. Their own degree means something to them. Their own degree validates something in them. Their own travel validates something in them. They have a narrative in life that they've made for themselves that they can't imagine living without and project that onto other people. As someone who is a long-distance friend of yours, let me say this - I have never once thought about what degrees you have or where you have traveled or what money you have. I've been inspired by your drive to create and your clear empathy towards the world around you. You are a such a great friend - and that's all your boys need to see. XO."

"The day-to-day "what are we going to do today" was always the hardest part for me when I was a SAHM. It's especially hard when you can't go outside. There's all this pressure to keep things fun. Sometimes, things are just boring! I'm still so proud of you for putting up your art. And yay for birthdays!"

"Oh my goodness... I FELT this SO MUCH. "I simply didn’t want to do anything and you have the perfect storm of apathy, indigestion, and ennui." - that line - seriously. So much I can relate to. I wish I could feel success, especially small every day ones, as much as I feel the weight of failure (often perceived failure, not even real failure). I too know it will fade, but it's hard in the moment. I'm glad you wrote this. You DESERVE your art. XO."

I'm sooo looking forward to this series. I have gone back and forth being a SAHM on and off for my daughter's whole life. There's so much wrapped up in that. Can't wait to dive into it all with you!"
