"I was just thinking about this with reading. I normally read 1-3 books a week. Lately, I haven't been reading much at all. And then I start to worry that I'll never read again. But of course I do. I am also starting to get holiday anxiety... my sister is already done shopping for Christmas presents for MY daughter. How is that possible? I haven't even started yet. Taking a moment to breathe is excellent advice!"

"Yes. I am a nerd and I picked 1972 because it was the year that the C programming language was released. If you can't let your geek flag fly in your own writing, when can you? They probably didn't have books in the library about it yet though... perhaps my flight of fancy getting in there a bit. :) I'm so glad you are enjoying the story. I appreciate it and I thank you for reading!"

"Ooooph. This was a gut punch of an entry! Your honesty here is so important. I try and tell myself that when someone points out something about my life, it's coming from their own insecurities. Their own degree means something to them. Their own degree validates something in them. Their own travel validates something in them. They have a narrative in life that they've made for themselves that they can't imagine living without and project that onto other people. As someone who is a long-distance friend of yours, let me say this - I have never once thought about what degrees you have or where you have traveled or what money you have. I've been inspired by your drive to create and your clear empathy towards the world around you. You are a such a great friend - and that's all your boys need to see. XO."

"The day-to-day "what are we going to do today" was always the hardest part for me when I was a SAHM. It's especially hard when you can't go outside. There's all this pressure to keep things fun. Sometimes, things are just boring! I'm still so proud of you for putting up your art. And yay for birthdays!"

I made this same pilgrimage myself once, so I actually got out my photos from my trip to draw inspiration. I hope that comes through too. Thanks for reading!"

"Oh my goodness... I FELT this SO MUCH. "I simply didn’t want to do anything and you have the perfect storm of apathy, indigestion, and ennui." - that line - seriously. So much I can relate to. I wish I could feel success, especially small every day ones, as much as I feel the weight of failure (often perceived failure, not even real failure). I too know it will fade, but it's hard in the moment. I'm glad you wrote this. You DESERVE your art. XO."

FYI - as I'm in the throws of hybrid publishing and working with two different designers on my cover and interior graphics... let me know if you ever want to talk logistics / cost / etc. XOXO"
