By day, she is a mild-mannered compliance officer. Using her assertive nature to whip people into compliance. It is no surprise that her favorite Star Trek quote is, “You will comply.”

At night, and most weekends, she lets her witty acerbic humor out on the page writing: romance, sci-fi and paranormal fiction. 

If this sounds like the bio of a superhero it is merely a coincidence. Or is it?

She is a huge sci-fi buff; having grown up on Star Trek, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica and The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai. If you don't know what those are look them up, you won't be sorry.

She loves writing stories where ordinary occurrences spin into extraordinary adventures. Her female characters are strong, quirky, curious women who spend more time fighting for others than themselves.

 

WHY DOES SHE WRITE?

Nikki grew up in a Navy family. That meant moving every three years, since birth. As an adult, she values the benefits she gained from experiencing different cultures. But, growing up there were times she felt alone feeling that no one else understood what it was like to constantly move.

​At 13, she read Paula Danzinger's 'This Place Has No Atmosphere' and experienced the power of books. The book dealt with a young lady living through the upheaval of moving to the moon while in high school. It was then Nikki realized she was not the alone. Someone else understood the difficulties of moving. Someone else understood the benefits of moving. Someone else got it.

​Since then her goal has been to write a book that speaks to the core of its reader. She will have reached that goal when a reader sees a bit of themselves in her book.
