Restless wanderer / reluctant enthusiast / curious learner / half-hearted poet / incurable writer. Looking for inspiration everywhere, finding purpose anywhere.
I'm currently traveling, but I'm traveling slowly. I spend about a month in each place I visit because it gives me the time to get a feeling for what its like to live there and not just to see the sights as a tourist. So while I'm in town, I learn as much as I can about where I am, I walk alot, and I meet people. I build habits. I form a picture in my mind of the place I am staying, and then I write a short piece of fiction set in that place. The topics of the stories vary, and the perspective changes every month. The idea isn't to tell my story; after all, as a visitor, I'm only passing through. The idea is to tell the story of a place as I've learned to see it, which is but one of many ways to see. By writing these stories, I intend to explore things both familiar and strange, secret and well known. I intend to look into what we can find among places, and I hope by reading you can too.
