I'm a writer and photographer. I used to reverse those two, being a photographer first and writing if I felt the urge, but I'm working on my MA in English and creative writing and I've absolutely and completely fallen in love with writing, so the roles have reversed.

I have two projects I'm working on. My novel, Stranger Miracles, is the story of Mina, a young mother from Istanbul who flees an abusive marriage and takes her son to live with her estranged sister, Sarah. The story is told from the perspective of both women, painting very different pictures of the same world. 

My other project, Sena, is the piece I'm working on in my classes for my degree program. It tells the story of Sena, a young woman that has lost nearly everything during the civil war in Syria. If you like, you can follow the progress of Sena here.

I grew up in a far suburb of Detroit, between an old dairy farm and a doomsday prepper, which, despite the town being incredibly dull, those two things made for some interesting stories. I write under a pseudonym, mainly because, well, I don't love my name and writing allowed me the perfect chance to fix that.
