Formerly of the hedge fund world, Matt tired of the low fullfillment, high stress, 80+ hour work week enviorment. In early 2015 he took a leave from finance to pursue his two passions full time: writing and traveling. After two novels, two screenplays, and multiple published short works, he has yet to look back. His writing, while not all directly about his multi-year journey around the world without flying, has been heavily influenced by the people and places he has been fortunate enough to meet along the way.

His short fiction has appeared in print and online for various literary journals as well as The New York Times.
