maybe called half a person / or the things i know about myself / or the stars are songs without words / or i was never good at naming poems (they are themselves the name)

i am a quiet thing

i know this about myself

and don’t suffer

i can sit in my vast peace of silence

and feel no need to give voice to the stars

(they already have their own)

and i have always known

how to listen

(i have always been disused lips

with dream-catcher ears)
