for when the branches shake

we are all of us leaves that shiver in the wind

huddled and reaching for each other

and if we fall we will fly on the breeze together

and dance in the cold

and when the wind is dying

we will crumple ourselves together on the ground

and it will be okay

it will be like rest

our hands and faces touching

and our eyes peeking at each other
