“The single largest stumbling block in bringing about the next evolutionary leap for humanity through a technological singularity event is, well, humanity. Once upon a time, technology was simple. Our tools did exactly what we wanted them to do. The first computers were essentially room sized number crunchers that were fed punch cards. Then we decided that our machines should stop thinking like machines. No, we wanted machines to be able to do things that we could do so that we didn’t have to do some of those things anymore.
