During the time my future ex-husband and I were planning our wedding, my never-to-be mother-in-law died.
     Nancy had been a hateful woman, who had once attempted to coerce Erick, her only child, into selling her our daughter. To say that Erick's "fall from grace" for having the audacity to impregnate me without first marrying me had never set well with her, would be an understatement. In her devote Catholic mind, this was an intolerable situation and could only be solved by buying our infant daughter.
