Standing outside the auditorium in my cap and gown, I looked down at the diploma I held in my hands. I had done it. I had gotten my Associates of Arts and only a semester behind schedule. I even managed to graduate with high honors. Despite all the problems with math, two boys, a new baby, and Erick, I had still managed to pull off a 3.75 GPA.
I was a college graduate. How about that?! I wanted to go on to a bigger university and get my Masters in Psychology, but those plans would have to wait. At least for now. Instead, I had a job waiting for me as a Habilitation Specialist at Transitions, starting on Monday, working with disabled adults.
