Stepping through the doors of John Wood, I paused to take in the bustle of people streaming through the wide hallways. Feeling a few flutters, I took my first real step towards the new future I was planning for myself.
     I was now officially a college student.
     It wasn't the university I dreamed of while still in high school, but it was a start in the right direction. Perhaps in a couple of years, after I earned my degree here, I could transfer to one of the other bigger universities in the area.      A handful would require me moving away from Quincy, but that was a problem for another day. Today I had a more pressing problem to occupy my thoughts, finding my first classroom.
