We are the worlds most ravenous predators.  We don't simply kill animals, we systematically destroy their habitats.  We exploit the land and claim it as our own.  We even fight over it and its resources.  

In 1890, a German immigrant named Eugene Schieffelin thought it would be a great idea to introduce as many of Shakespeare's birds as possible to North America.  So, on a cold winter's day he released 60 starlings into New York's Central Park in the hope they would start breeding.  They did, and now there are over 200 million in North America.   To American farmers, they are a pest.
