The children quickly and quietly put away their spiral notebooks. The older grades had to copy the definitions of each word and then write a sentence with the word, so they seemed quite grateful to be moving on to the next subject, although not one complained. It's now time for math. The younger grades grabbed their subtraction and addition workbooks as grades three through six got out their multiplication tables to practice. "According to these lesson plans, we have a math test coming up, so make sure you study well," I announced, trying to sound encouraging.
