the circle of life's ever turning
from maiden to mother to crone
we beg for more time with a yearning
and a fear of being alone

but dying's important to living
for without it how would we know
the beauty of love and of giving
our spirits the freedom to grow

for nothing is precious on earth
without knowing an end is to come
but death isn't really a dearth
when we know that they're waiting at home
