we don't want our babies to leave
and nothing can soften the blow
so think on this during your grief
all dogs go to heaven, you know

and cats, while seeming aloof
love us as only they do
how can we think we have proof
heaven won't welcome them too?

every pet we've loved or have known
from no legs to four legs or more
will keep us from being alone
when we walk through heaven's front door
