midnight calls the phantoms home
to rest below the mossy loam
and in the darkness deep they fly
without a care for who or why
they only know that velvet night
is banished by the sunrise light
it matters not where'ere they roam
they must return beneath the dome
of soothing stars and holy dark
before the call of morning's lark
to sigh and sleep the day away
and dream of midnight's cool embrace
