Don't stir up the water, said the agriculturist, 
we've waited long for it to settle.
My stock need to replenish, said the pastoralist,
we've journeyed so long.
Go somewhere else, said the agriculturist,
there's no room here.
There's no "somewhere else", said the pastoralist, 
everywhere else is dry.

 

And so they agreed.
The stock would nourish only after the agriculturist clan is filled for the day.

 

Meanwhile in their eyes, a dreadful story is being told.
Something beyond them is shrinking the lakes.
More stock would be passing through.
More families are being started by children of the clan.

 

And so in their rumination they wondered,
how long would their agreement last.
