Rain came. Unseasoned. Brief.
Like a consequence of the heat.
Rain came and heat took a break.
We found some relief.
March was in disagreement.
Wet air mixed with radiating heat made our skins itch.
And allergies rose.
And the air reeked of decaying things.
Rain dusted our roofs, but didn't soften our soil.
Farmers fidgeted, though knowing it month would come.
They prayed for a convenient rain chart.
Like babies, crops need stability.
Rain, fruit of our fertile sky, came and reminded us of its nourishment.
Then we set our eyes on May.
The month of dark clouds harvest.
