Duncan found the rock in just under a half hour later. Panting, he gulped down air, trying to get his breath. He hadn’t run the entire way but he had done his best to run when he could.
The brambles next to the blue-veined rock were thick like Allasan mentioned, though Duncan didn’t anticipate them to look like a prickly wall.
Entwined thick around dense boxwood trees that had grown undisturbed for some time, it formed a dense natural barrier that ran through the forest from northeast to southwest. In the distance, yards away, he could see where the overgrown mess divided. Duncan guessed it was another game trail.
The whole thing reminded him of some overgrown ancient fortification, from even the time of the Forerunners, that the forest reclaimed so long ago, no one knew it was here....
