pieces.
i haven't changed.
i'm still the same
as i always was.
except now,
all the pieces
are rearranged.
why is it so easy to get
wrapped up in you
again
spinning
like a web
woven
from the strings of
spaghetti,
around the fork
that is my mind.
twirling,
we’ll float on through
the crevices
that still remain.
but now
my head is splitting
and today,
you’re winning.
my heart
is still broken into
pieces
of me
and
pieces
of you.
***
rosy.
i collapse.
as every cell
of me
absorbs the whole
of you.
am i going
under
or just going
in
can’t tell where
i start
and where
you begin
fall faster,
now sleep my darling.
traces of time,
like footsteps
right through my door.
waking you at midnight
just to feel the pin-prick
of your heartbeat
right next to mine.
if we move fast enough
can we sync with the time
upon our souls
we once did write?
but that was long ago,
and now it’s 12 past midnight.
and i couldn’t
absorb the whole of you
even if i tried.
***
flats & minors.
and if i couldn’t see the clouds for the horizon
i know that you’d
still be by my side
halfway to the centerline
falling into the sea.
i hope that you’d have my strings untwined
but you...
never seemed to hear
even though you were right beside me.
so often i did live in fear.
we’d talk for hours
but as if without making a sound.
now,
we’re fading fast as the roses do
holding on to only the hope left,
the one we can't renew.
lifting up our collective sorrow,
why are we still hoping
that our time is yet to borrow?
it seems fate has sewn stitches
connecting my heart to yours.
but fate also echoes
a terrible, everlasting ringing:
she's repeating,
"it’s time to go once more."

Interesting reads. I think I like Flats and Minors a little more than the others. :)
