Vlad rode hard to the West, fueled by his fury at Corvinus’ betrayal.  He thought of all of the ways he would punish Corvinus once he found him.  No method of torture was beyond his consideration.  Impalement, crucifixion, hot brands thrust into the eye sockets – all of these were available to him.

He rode through the darkened landscape until his steed could no longer run, and even then he pushed forward, marching ahead through brush and thicket as he led his mount.

By the territory around him he believed he was just east of the outer edge of Corvinus’ kingdom.

As the elevation grew higher Vlad found himself surrounded by mist as he made his way.
