For days Pasha had waited in the rocks just beyond Radu’s castle for a chance to gain entrance, finding little to eat and growing more and more frustrated as the days passed.  His chance finally came in the form of a heavily-laden spice wagon driven by a man that seemed as old as time itself. 

Just as the wagon passed, Radu sprang from an adjacent boulder and landed in a cloud of spice on top of the sacks.  He made himself as flat as possible and waited, but the driver never paid heed to the additional weight of his load and the wagon kept ambling forward.

Quietly, Radu used the dagger he had stolen from the soldiers to slice open one of the sacks, and let the contents of the sack spill out of the back of the wagon onto the road.  The spice left a bright red...
