There was a loud banging on the convent door.
"Open up in the name of Lord Corvinus!" a soldier barked.
Sister Marina could hear the commotion all the way in her chamber, and knew the danger it represented. She raced down the hall to Sister Clara's room.
Sister Clara had been kneeling in prayer, and was startled by Sister Marina's sudden entrance.
"Corvinus is here," she whispered, as if the intruders were already inside. "Hide the girl!" Sister Marina then rushed away before Clara could finish asking "But where?"
Sister Clara hurried down the corridor. The banging at the front door sounded like thunder, and she wanted to cover her ears. When she arrived, Mina was sleeping.&n...
