“It is I, Lord Tepes.  I can help you, Mina.”

Mina rushed over to the door of the cell and placed her hands against the cold metal.  “My liege!  Are you hurt?”

“No.  Listen quickly.  They are coming for you.  There is a fissure in the rock about ten feet back on the right.  It is very small, but you might fit.  It is your only hope.”

“I would as soon die next to you in this dungeon rather than die alone stuck trapped in the stones and darkness,” she replied.

“No!  Listen to me.  There is an underground river in this mountain.  I can hear it.  It is very close.”

“I cannot swim!  I will drown,” she whispered back
