Mina stood by the high window of the castle letting the wind from the valley below slowly caress her.  It was several moments before she noticed the soft touch of a hand on her shoulder.   She jumped as if she had been sharply pinched.

Matthias gripped her shoulders firmly.  “Lady Willomina, my deepest apologies for frightening you.”

“Lord Corvinus,” Mina stammered nervously.  She felt his chest pressing against her back.  “A gentleman should always knock before entering a lady’s bed chamber.”  She turned around to face him and he released her.

Feigning shyness, she stepped back several paces.  She tried to force a blush into her cheeks.  “Shall we be meeting Lord Tepes soon?” she asked.
