We are not pearls hiding

inside shells, deep in the ocean

being ashamed, blamed, tamed, made insane

as the cause, the reason

for shame, disgust

distrusted as the motive

scape goats

for being we

for being us

setting free

writing down

going on, and

speaking up

When pearls talk, it silences the audience.
