“Something’s wrong,” Kella said, though not aloud.
Nialdaman still heard her.
“I sense it too,” he said. “It draws nearer with every man we heal.”
Kella couldn’t feel fear in their current state. Her entire being was focused only on the magic at hand. The distraction approaching was hard to ignore, however. Kella had felt this presence before.
“Perrin,” she said at last.
It was not a question, but Nialdaman answered, “Yes.”
Kella accepted this and continued working.
“How many?”
“Twenty-two now,” Nialdaman said. “You’re doing well.”
