CHAPTER 14

Colin Owens had left Manchester Piccadilly early on Thursday morning. He had taken the eight forty five train to Nottingham and arrived around mid morning. He was ready to join up with Frankie and Billy again and get back on the road. Maiden’s Hair would be playing at Rock City that evening. It was barely a ten minute walk to the venue from the station. Colin bought a newspaper and sat in a café with a coffee and looked for any reports on last night’s operation.

The murders were pushed off the front pages by news of upcoming strikes by teachers and some sort of militant day of action. Colin wasn’t particularly interested in any of that so he flicked through to see what was inside.

He found an extensive report on the deaths of the five men on Page Five....
