CHAPTER 10

Back in Durham the investigation into the murder of Neil Cartwright had been making very little progress. In fact it felt like they weren’t moving forward at all to Phil Hounsell and Danny Bevan.

It was the afternoon of Friday 25th June and both officers were wondering whether they were going to get home for the weekend; it looked increasingly unlikely. Phil wasn’t looking forward to making that call to Erica; he fully expected that she had things planned. There had been talk of a much needed shopping trip into Bath, a BBQ, a trip to her mother’s with the kids and last but not least a couple of jobs that needed doing around the house that apparently only he could cope with.
