Nathan made sure Kate received a thorough examination at the hospital, which much to his relief revealed she was fine.  In exchange for her cooperation, he went to check on Leo for her peace of mind when the doctor made him leave her side.  A C.T. had been ordered that confirmed there were no internal injuries.  An x-ray indicated a stable fracture of the tibia on his left leg didn’t require surgery.  Kate called her grandfather to relay Leo had been in an accident, so he could pass on the information to Richard.  She waited until the family arrived at the hospital and managed to leave without being noticed.

After Kate was safely in her bedroom, she removed the ring Leo had given her, let out an ear-piercing scream, and hurled it with all her might.  Nathan opened the door in time...
