Leo phoned that afternoon as promised.  Kate invited him for dinner the very next day, and he eagerly accepted.  When she informed her grandfather of their guest, he suddenly had an out of town meeting and wasn’t going to be home in time to join them.  She suspected his absence was a sly maneuver to give her an opportunity to be alone with Leo.

Kate recalled how nice the evening for two had been that Clay set up all those years ago.  She would mimic his romantic endeavors for the most part, but make a change to replace the dancing.   Her mind had come up with something more captivating to snare Leo into her trap.

She placed a quick call to him.  “Grandfather has urgent business tomorrow, so we'll be alone.  You can dress casual, and we can go for a swim...
