A nurse came into Kate’s room a little while later to take her blood pressure, and she was anxious to question the woman.  “How is my baby?”

“Let me check your chart.  If we haven’t scheduled an ultrasound yet, I’ll go ahead and order one.”

Shortly afterwards, another woman came in to do the sonogram.  Kate was excited.  This was her first opportunity to see her child and hear the heartbeat.

The sonographer asked her, “Do you know how far along you are?”

“About six weeks.”

The woman was smiling.  “Then the baby is progressing right on schedule.”

Kate could finally calm down.  The baby was fine.  She had worried for nothing.
