Kate continued to be nervous about meeting Meredith Carlisle.  The woman’s opinion of her must surely be negative.  She had a baby with one of her sons, and was pretending to marry the other.  The deception she was perpetrating on her grandfather must have sounded contemptible when Clay tried to explain.  Not to mention what their mother didn’t know—she had slept with Nathan again.
