The light jabs inside of Julia’s abdomen began late in the morning on October tenth. Her discomfort was so mild in the beginning that she dismissed the minor annoyance as Braxton-Hicks contractions. Her daughter was not due for another eight days.
A couple of hours passed by and the pains suddenly became more severe and closer together. She phoned Dr. Addison’s office. The receptionist instructed her to head to the hospital and promised the obstetrician would meet her there.
When a nurse placed her in a room for an examination, she was already dilated to eight centimeters. The woman apprised her the baby could arrive in as little as half an hour. The pace of her delivery advanced much quicker than anticipated.
