Elizabeth was asleep by the time Leo arrived at the beach.  He wanted Kate to be able to enjoy the peacefulness of the waves for a few minutes.  They sat next to each other in silence for what seemed like an eternity.

Kate finally started the conversation.  “You weren’t exactly telling the truth to your mother we you said we didn’t plan to have this baby.  You told me that you like a child of your own right before Clay died.  I didn’t exactly do anything to try and prevent the conception from happening.  You didn’t either.  I think deep down I wanted to have your child.”

He leaned over to plant a tender kiss on her lips.  “Do you know how relieved I am to hear that?”

“I don’t want to hurt you again, Leo.&...
