Kate periodically checked in on Julian, Shane, and Blake as they played together in the sitting room.  The entire staff had orders to keep a close watch on them.  She was standing in Cameron’s doorway, watching him sleep, when the warmth of familiar arms surrounded her waist.  Her nostrils breathed in the scent of his Ambre Topkapi cologne as she leaned back against him.   

“Leo, I’m so glad you’re here.  I need you desperately.”

“I heard the news and rushed back to you.  What can I do?”

“Just hold me like you’re doing right now.  If anything were to happen to one of my children, I don’t think I could go on living.”
